Memorable parts? The extra trek up to the glacier where we had a fab view. Every amazing view of endless mountains. The cultural elements were great too and a brilliant way to acclimatise safely. Tips? Listen to your leader and drink plenty of water to avoid altitude sickness. Don't do too much when you first get to Leh in order to acclimatise properly. Enjoy the views!!! Local benefits? Local guides were used - we also saw the benefits from the different projects including... (more)Ellie Hawksley

Memorable parts? Difficult to choose just one, it was all memorable, but I particularly enjoyed the homestay in the backwaters of Kerala. Wonderful host family and a beautiful and relaxing setting. And Hampi has to be one of the most interesting places in India. Tips? It is not as basic as it sounds. All but two of the hotels were quite luxurious. Having all the travel arrangements done for you makes it stress free. We had a very good guide and the group had loads of positive energy.... (more)Maggie Hetherington

Memorable parts? As to be expected it was the Golden Temple and the Taj Mahal, but we really loved the amazing scenery in Himachal Pradesh, we hadn't expected it to be so beautiful and awe inspiring. We had some stunning views from our hotel rooms. Our walk round Andretta was particularly good, just a pity the start was delayed so we arrived back I the dark. Tips? Let them know the temperatures are perfect for walking, take a kettle and teabags, ask about footware before you set out... (more)Linda Godfrey

Memorable parts? Taj Mahal, Amber Palace, Ranthambhore National Park. Tips? Travelling in August is possible. The Monsoon did not affect us much. There are very few tourists and the countryside is green. Don't count on a good match with other families. Local benefits? To the extent that one bought or consumed local products local people benefited. Our impact on the environment was negative (flights, local travel, bottled water, pools etc). Overall rating? The key... (more)Alexander Auboeck
