Croatia holiday, activity week

Description of Croatia holiday, activity week
This Croatia holiday, an activity week based on the blissful island of Vis, is a small group holiday, that is as much about adventure as chilling on this Dalmatian paradise. Kayak to secret coves, savour fine local food and wine and go swimming in stunning Adriatic bays. There is also plenty of hiking and biking to be had on Vis, the farthest inhabited island off the Croatian mainland. And morning Yoga and slacklining across turquoise waters is a big favourite with many of our guests.
This holiday is based in our traditional stone home, which we have lovingly restored and where there are four ensuite bedrooms, with plenty of open plan living areas, the most popular usually being the shady terraced ones outside. In particular at night at dinner, when the stars are unhindered by light pollution of a big city. We are located close to some of the islands most wonderful beaches making easy access for our activities such as paddle boarding and sea kayaking but also for you to just have your own time enjoying the water.
On this activity holiday we have plenty of adventures to share with you, but we usually devise an itinerary when we meet the group, chat with you about your interests and experience, and decide whether to focus more on kayaking and paddle boarding or hiking and biking. Creating a perfect mix for people who love the water as much as land. We dont like being too rigid about things on Vis and favour going with the flow, starting each day with a morning yoga stretch for those who would like to join in. Others may just like to wake up with a swim!
Whatever activities you choose, you can rest assured that you will be well fed on this holiday. As well as being an island rich in local seasonal produce, there are agro tourism projects that we can visit and also some great island wines to sample. Please note that all the food provided at our home is vegetarian, but predominantly plant based. We include all breakfasts, four lunches, three dinners in the price of the holiday. We also love cake, so you can look forward to a freshly baked cake greeting you after a day of exploring Vis Island.
As well as five days of activities. We also offer a £200 children under 15 and we welcome children of all ages on this holiday.

I loved the kayaking as a group. We kayaked 4 out of 5 of the activity days, visiting different coast lines each time. We swapped between double and single kayaks, picnicked on beaches and tried paddle boarding along the way. Seeing Vis from this beautiful angle was inspiring. Our hosts Craig and Xania were absolutely incredible. Every days itinerary was spectacular from sunup to sundown. I think the highlight wouldve been living outside my comfort zone and kayaking and biking and doing yoga on a cliff just really pushing my limits every day. Private transport for guests on the Island is not recommended. We will provide pick up and drop off to and from the ferry along with transport to and from local restaurants. Daily transport will involve a combination of kayak, bicycle and foot far more suited to our goal of enjoying and preserving the beauty of Vis island.Certain days may include a picnic in an isolated bay guests will be actively involved in the process of carrying out waste. There as been resurgence in agro-tourism on the island. A number of small, private lots, growing grapes, olives, and lavender are beginning to appear. A tour of one of these initiatives to revive the old trades will be highly recommended. Another important area of economic growth on the island is the restaurants guests will eat out and sample their delights on 4 evenings out of 7. We always encourage out guests to visit restaurants that are locally run and use Island produce.
We have installed a new drainage system to collect rainwater from all the roof area of the property. This can be then used to water the lemon tree, herb garden, vines, and be used at times should the water supply to temporarily suspended.
People
There are a number of small, private olive and wine producing enterprises that are once again beginning to spring up on the island. We hope to develop links with such projects and provide access for guests to observe traditional methods of agriculture that are being revived. We are actively involved in Beach clean initiatives and we have a policy of no single use plastic and we recycle where possible. We purchase as much local produce as possible from our direct neighbours for our plant based meals. We donate and support a local stray cat and dog charity on the island due the lack of Vis Island Vet facilities.Popular similar holidays
