Description of Active holiday in Croatia for families with older children

Sometimes the best way to bond to shake up the everyday routine: jump into the sea together or go full pelt down a gorge in an inflatable raft.

This well-designed active holiday in Croatia for families with teenagers is perfect if you’ve got older children. It includes five full-on activity days, interspersed with free days where you can decide whether it’s sightseeing, more adventure, or beach relaxation on the menu.

This local operator has been designing family holidays in the area for over a decade, and you can take advantage of their expertise for everything from the most secluded swim spots to the best pizza place. Activities include an exciting programme of swimming and snorkelling, sea kayaking and rafting.

You’ll be based on the Trogir Peninsula in Croatia, near the village of Seget Donji. The Trogir Riviera is a stretch of pretty Croatian coastline with views out towards the islands. The coastline is dotted with caves and beaches and has the UNESCO-listed town of Trogir in its centre. The sparkling Adriatic, with its inviting clear waters, is never far away.

No summer holiday here is complete without spending time in the water. A swim is always high on the agenda on this trip, whether you’re jumping in after a speedboat tour, donning a snorkel, or popping in from your kayak.

Once you venture inland you’ll discover Krka National Park, with its famous set of wide waterfalls, and the River Cetina, which winds through the Croatian countryside and is best explored on an exciting rafting trip. You might encounter a few white-water rapids on the way down, luckily, the reward for your hard paddle is a bankside BBQ.

There are plenty of cultural highlights on the Dalmatian coast. The coastal city of Sibenik has two UNESCO listings – for its cathedral and for its fort. Your guided tour of Split doesn’t just stop at the historic sights. Your local guide will also show you what it’s like for people living there now.

You’ll be going with a group of like-minded families, but you’ll stay in your own apartment with a lounge and terrace or balcony, so everyone – especially teenagers – get that all important peace and privacy.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Island hopping by speedboat between islands, then frequently cooling off, swimming from the boat. Sightseeing in Trogir and Sibenik. Rafting also very good.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Be prepared for very hot weather.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

It benefited local people because the tour operator was local, arranging everything via local people, therefore it was the locals who received income rather than a huge corporate group. Island hopping.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Excellent, relaxing holiday with guides giving insight into history and culture, also plenty of free time to go exploring and do your own thing.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

We are local travel agency from Croatia and our mission is to protect wildlife, our sea and nature as that is a reason why our guest visiting our country, Croatia. Every day we are working on protecting wildlife of Croatia and we do that with our guest. For example on our tour to National parks in Croatia we sometimes have wildlife specialist guides who help guests to look the wildlife in a responsible way by keeping minimum distances, not using camera flashes to keep disturbance to a minimum. Also keep im mind when you book our services and entrence fees for National parks - an entrance fee goes towards for the conservation of that area.
For a farewell gala dinner which we have in one of our local restourant, where a owner and whole family working and they use only local and seasonally grown food that is also always good to mention so you will know that you help also local community by booking this travel program.
We also try to keep transport emissions down on the trip through walking/ kayaking tours. is also good to mention, particularly if it replaces the need for cars. In this travel program we have offered you 2 kayak tours and we try to use more green/blue energy. In our accommodation which we choose as partners they take care about sustainability credentials and environmentalism. They are for us great partners, as they try to do all in their accommodation to have a positive effect on the environment in Croatia .

In our office and email strategy its implantat most important rule of saving paper: Think twice if you really need to print – if it is necessary to print make sure you print on both sides (duplex). This is a really easy way to reduce
paper consumption by half.We have set defaults printer on computers to double sided - select one-sided printing only when we really needed.
Us less paper by effectively using computers and other technology.

All our travellers are provide with suggestion how to reduce water use in our destination On each our tour we reccomend travellers to take
their own reusable bottles and trying with our example to show why is good to use reusable bottles. We are not only suggesting not to damage to the environment and wildlife ecosystems, we are living with this as that is main reason why many travellers coming here, beautifull environment and wildlife ecosystems. Provide suggestion to our travellers how to help a local projects as benefits is on both side.Trying to encourage others not just travellers to reduce plastic waste with very simple use of their own reusable bottles, we try to clean up the plastics from the office and get rid of single use items. We suggest our staff to come in office cycling or walking and drive less or drive wise.
One of smart suggestion for our staff and travellers is to choose fuel efficient vehicles if they have to drive or buy one. Our most important support its support of local growers and fruit box deliveries for our travellers as this is very good for local economy.
