Planet – Carbon reduction

We've chosen small, boutique hotels throughout. Hotel Bidasoa in Santiago, for example, is a family-owned boutique hotel. Most experiences, such as hiking, walking and stargazing, are done on foot, so you explore Chile's landscapes without extra vehicles.

Planet – Environment and wildlife

Local guides lead these experiences, explaining the landscapes and wildlife you're seeing, the challenges these places face and practical ways to reduce your impact, such as taking all rubbish out, sticking to marked paths and keeping a respectful distance from wildlife.

You'll spend several nights in each region, which means less time on the move and more time to get to know each place.

People

People – Local economy

People are at the heart of everything we do, and this itinerary balances Chile's best-known sights with smaller, lesser-known places. Every transfer and excursion includes local guides, which means employment for residents and storytelling rooted in Chilean culture.

Experiences such as an Atacameño weaving and pottery workshop in the Atacama and a visit to a rural family on Chiloé bring income directly to local artisans and families, and help keep their traditions alive.

People – Employment, inclusivity and diversity

The properties are small boutique or family-owned hotels, so the money you spend goes into the local economy, and many of them employ local staff and buy from local suppliers. Our local partners also train their guides every year in safety, service, local knowledge and responsible travel.
