Everything was perfect! The dogs, the way they were cared for, Aki and Suvi who looked after us, the location. The whole holiday was brilliant. Aki and Suvi were very welcoming and couldn't make us feel more at home! The dogs are all amazing, so friendly and the personalities all so unique and lovely! The most memorable moment was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts (and their great home cooked Finnish cuisine), to interacting with the dogs and harnessing them, to the experience of a wood fired sauna beside a frozen lake each evening, this short holiday could not have been better. Memorable parts? Far too many to mention personally - running the Helsinki Marathon (fantastic scenic route!) at the end of the trip was a personal highlight but aside from this I also enjoyed the beautiful scenery of northern Finland and great accommodation throughout the trip. My 4 year old son enjoyed it all too but his favourites were the Angry Birds Kids Theme Park, Husky Sledding, meeting Santa Claus, feeding reindeers, running the Helsinki Mini Marathon for kids, riding the trams... We loved all the activities. I think the huskies would be voted top by most of the party. But just the experience of being surrounded by a beautiful snowy trees and scenery and for small (and larger) children, the constant availability of sledges and slopes and lovely deep snow is magical. Just being able to go in to the zoo every day we were there and see those animals and birds once more was also special. (more)Liz Garrett

Memorable parts? Seeing a total of 5 different wolverines up close in a few hours - amazing when there are only about 150 in the whole country. Tips? Take plenty of memory cards because you'll need them if you are as lucky as I was. Local benefits? Yes - the money went towards the cost of providing a feeding station throughout the year. Memorable parts? Watching wolverines and bears very close. Tips? As you nearly don't sleep at night, it's better to organize a transfer to the next hide instead of driving yourself the hides are very different in term of distance to the bait but also in comfort( some are heated and have good sleepingfacilities, others are terrible and are the same price!!) Memorable parts? All of it ! Finnish Lapland is truly magical ! We were lucky to experience the fun of snowshoeing through deep freak snow the sun came out most days for amazing photos and we experienced the aurora in all their glory on our snowshoe night tour. Every day was different loved the husky safari, the cross country skiing the saunas followed by an ice pool plunge. Food accommodation all great thank you Rita! Tips?
