We had an excellent holiday and so it is difficult to pick out was most memorable, but we did particularly enjoy the horse ride and visit to the tobacco fields and our stay on Cayo Levisa. But we also loved Havana and Trinidad. (more)Richard Patterson
Having designed my own trip, the best aspect was the freedom to spent time doing things on a whim sitting around immersing myself in the less touristy aspects of Cuba, away from the bars and CD-touting bands, instead mixing with the least affluent of the society, meeting fascinating characters and enjoying the music made by people in their own front rooms and doorsteps. This was an excellent trip where we experienced a different side to India. Indeed, it felt very much like a different country. I enjoyed every moment of my stay but being taught to dance Bachata by my
host family would have to be the highlight.
Tips?
If possible, ask to be placed at Dona Leila's house. She was the most
wonderful host - incredibly friendly, very patient with my basic Spanish and
an amazing cook.
