Our holidays for vegetarians & vegans

Our vegan and vegetarian holidays open up a world of plant-based dining. We’ve got vegan cooking holidays in the Med, organic retreats in the mountains, and cultural journeys through regions where meat-free feasts are the norm. As varied as they are, they all have a similar commitment to showcasing local cuisine and supporting small-scale food producers – and can even take you behind the scenes to reveal how your food gets from farm and forest to fork. Food miles: minimised. Carbon emissions: cut. Delicious dining: off the scale. Just scroll down to the ‘holiday information’ section on each trip to see more information about dietary requirements.

Vegetarian & vegan holiday highlights

Holidays with vegetarian & vegan options

Our veggie-friendly holidays are varied, from whale watching trips in the Azores to camping safaris where pretty much any dietary requirement can be catered for on the campfire, and all by accomplished cooks. As the meat-free movement continues to grow, more of our holidays are also offering vegan dining options. We now have over 1,400 trips with vegan meals available – even in places like South Korea, Portugal and Japan, where vegan cuisine was once like gold dust. It all points to a bright future of diverse plant-based dining.

Destinations ideal for vegetarians & vegans

Some countries have always offered a huge choice of vegetarian and vegan options – say, India, Thailand, Greece, Ethiopia and Indonesia – simply because plants are the base of the regional cuisine. In other cases, it’s the type of holiday that has long mastered the art of catering for all. Antarctica might be remote, but chefs on small ship cruises are pros at whipping up delicious dishes for a range of dietary requirements.

Cooking classes, food tours & foraging

Some of our vegetarian and vegan holidays go beyond fuelling your adventures – they also delve into the magic behind the menus. Vegan cooking holidays in the Peloponnese explore dishes that have been the foundation of the region for millennia, taking you to village markets and foraging for wild fennel with local experts. Other excellent options include our food tours in Mexico, cooking holidays in Portugal, coffee tours in Ethiopia, and food adventures in Iceland that all support small local food suppliers.

Plant-powered yoga retreats

Many of our yoga holidays only serve vegan and vegetarian food – take our mountain retreat in the Austrian Alps, where the hosts and chefs are passionate about serving an ever-changing menu of seasonal organic food. You’ll often find this hyperlocal focus extends to all corners of the accommodation, from the solar panels on the roof to the artisan handmade soaps in the bathrooms.

Our vegan holiday collection

Hiking through the Austrian Alps. Adventures in Kerala. Touring Ethiopia’s top food spots. Cooking holidays in Greece. Our amazing vegan holidays inspire us to keep increasing our vegan collection. These holidays aren’t just for hardcore herbivores, either. They welcome all food-first folks, whether you’re dabbling in reducing your meat and dairy consumption or simply like the look of the – admittedly, brilliant – itineraries.
