Memorable parts?
Monitoring and tracking the wild dogs was a most memorable experience. We'd get up early in the morning and sit in the back of an open jeep and roar off to the last sighting. It was winter. It was cold. It didn't matter as it was a big adventure and the not knowing would we find them or not? Waiting and watching for the next time. Really great fun.
Tips?

Memorable parts?
My last cage dive. We had one large female shark who did a slow pass right next
to the cage. You could see her blue eye moving and focusing as she had a good
look at what was going on inside our cage.
Tips?
I would recommend adding a few extra days on either side of the project so that
you can explore Cape Town and do any additional activities that you haven't yet
had the chance to fit in. The longer you are there, the longer your "to do" list
will get.

Going on a horseback safari and getting only six metres from a wild giraffe!! I also loved being so close with the monkeys in the centre

You must like dogs as the site is full of them (all friendly of course!!) and not be afraid to get your hands dirty. You will be cleaning up after animals, it's not all

On my last day in the village where I had been with children developing a bike track and teaching them to cycle, we had a special Olympics race day! About 100 of the locals turned up to compete! It was a load of fun and very special (and my 30th birthday).

Without doubt the safari we went on to the Addo & Scotia parks but spending time playing with Serval Cats whilst volunteering at the African Dawn Wildlife Project was a close second.
Tips?
If you are volunteering - you might be a bit overwhelmed when you first arrive - give it a couple of days and you will love it.

Poor. Not much meaningful work. It was not well organized in keeping volunteers busy. There were lots of occasions when we ran out of jobs and were told to wander around and look for things to do. Myself and my grandchildren were extremely disappointed. We had a family meeting and left early. Still a bad taste in our mouth. After staying there I felt that the fee charged was excessive.
