Our brilliant wildlife holidays

What makes our holidays extraordinary

Seeing your first hummingbird – or your hundredth – tracking wolf prints in the snow, or hunkering down in a wildlife hide in wait for a wolverine: Responsible Travel’s holidays get you closer to nature. We’ve been the home of extraordinary wildlife holidays since 2001. You’ll find over a thousand wildlife holidays on our site across more than 120 destinations. African safaris, wildlife cruises, rainforest adventures, small group trips and tailor made tours: find animal magic around the world with us.
We believe that we had the best guide in Africa. Abu had an uncanny knack to spot animals and birds and willingly shared his vast knowledge of wildlife, plants, geography and history.

From albatross to chimpanzee

We are wildlife holiday specialists with an incredible range of wildlife watching trips. We have around 1,500 wildlife holidays on our site at any one time. Do not adjust your binoculars, it’s true: that’s hundreds of options for every month of the year.

We run wildlife-specific holidays in 122 countries and regions, and have over 30 types of wildlife expedition, from lynx tracking to wildlife photography. Our range includes:

Travellers love our trips

Since 2001 we have helped hundreds of thousands of travellers have incredible animal experiences on trips that benefit nature and communities. As a result, many holidaymakers return to us again and again.

We’re long-standing: To date, we have sent over 45,000 travellers on our trips. Opposable thumbs up: Our wildlife holidays have around 3,000 reviews; 96 percent of travellers give our wildlife trips four or five stars. You can’t get enough of us: across our site, 33 percent of travellers are repeat bookers.
The buildings are made of local timber. The guide was local and cooked with locally produced food. The hides were off grid. The money for the holiday helps to fund the protection of ancient woodland and the restoration of clear fell.

Trust us for your next trip

We’re the natural home of great wildlife holidays. We don’t bring wildlife to you; we take you to the wildlife. Say no to animals in captivity; say yes to captivating experiences in jungles, grasslands, wetlands and meadows. Say yes to booking with experts, and with a company that cares.

Travel with confidence: All our trips are covered by our Responsible Travel Financial Guarantee. Read all about it: Our wildlife holidays regularly feature in international publications, from The Guardian to Forbes. Know that we care: Since our inception, we have made it our business to consider the impact our trips have on the environment. Discover our campaigns: We have always advocated for wildlife in the tourism industry. We were early campaigners against irresponsible practices like captive cetaceans (2014) and zoos (2017). You can read our stances on wildlife and animals in tourism. We’ve set a goal to contribute to a nature positive world by 2030.
The guide at Ranomafana National Park was quite outstanding – he could identify (and imitate) over 100 of the 120 species of bird.

Unparalleled expertise across the world

When it comes to wildlife, we know it’s best to leave it to the experts. On our trips you can accompany a zoologist or naturalist, meet on-board researchers on small ship cruises, and connect with local guides. Our travellers come back with species lists as long as an orangutan’s arm – from seeing 300 birds in Uganda, to dozens of mammals in India.

Discover our extended network: We have been working with some of our strongest wildlife teams for over 20 years. Meet the whale whisperers: Over 150 of our wildlife holidays are locally run, often with local guides.

How to choose a wildlife holiday

How to choose from our mammoth range of wildlife trips? Our popular holiday types are below.

You don’t have to be a naturalist – but you might meet one. Our small group wildlife holidays suit all sorts: from avid birdwatchers armed with scopes, to those of us who just really want to see a bear in the wild.

We can help travellers track down the more unusual species on their bucket lists. Consider a tailor made trip: if you want to get specific, we do too.
From whales to whale sharks: our wildlife cruises range from polar expeditions to small ships in the Galapagos and snorkelling adventures in the Maldives. Cruises never carry more than 250 passengers – often far fewer.

Our safari holidays range from participatory camping trips and tracking on foot, to luxury tented camps in Kenya’s wildlife conservancies, and we can advise on everything from seeing the Great Migration to where to go for wild dogs.

Bringing the whole pack? Our family wildlife holidays go everywhere from orangutan sanctuaries to whale watching destinations, via turtle conservation – and children can volunteer with animals from as young as age eight.

Give back with us: we run wildlife-focused volunteering trips, where you can help with baby monkeys, turtle hatchlings and more, and conservation trips, where you’re logging sightings and working with researchers.
Want something a bit different? Well, what about: photographing snow leopards in the Himalayas, seeing millions of monarch butterflies in Mexico, going on nocturnal rainforest safaris with Indigenous guides, or moose tracking in Sweden?
